Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Playing Qing by River by Mi Gengyun was sold in the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in New York in August this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 30,240.00 (€ 3,557.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mi Gengyun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus And Bird in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 47,405.56).
