Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Longevity by Mi Gengyun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,842.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mi Gengyun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lotus And Bird in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 47,405.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Longevity von Mi Gengyun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.842,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mi Gengyun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lotus And Bird im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 47.405,56).
