Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art/Turkish, which included the work Ciftci Cukurdadir (The Farmer Is In The Hole) by Mehmet Güleryüz. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 45,629.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mehmet Güleryüz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iki Yaka (The Two Banks), which sold at auction in April 2012 for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 119,274.42).
