The work "Valencia was made aware of the fact that she had attracted a new admirer..." by Mead Schaeffer was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,853.47) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mead Schaeffer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work “Closed! Frieder, do you realize what that means...", which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 55,000.00 (€ 46,226.26).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit "Valencia was made aware of the fact that she had attracted a new admirer..." von Mead Schaeffer wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.853,47) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mead Schaeffer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit “Closed! Frieder, do you realize what that means..." beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 55.000,00 (€ 46.226,26) versteigert wurde.
