Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Max Ernst could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work Conscious Landscape changed hands for USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,354,727.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 23,670,444.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Ernst konnte im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Conscious Landscape für USD 1.762.500,00 (€ 1.354.727,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.800.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 23.670.444,64).
