In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings, which included the work The Holy Women Mourning Over The Body Of The Dead Christ by Mauro Gandolfi. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,107.14), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mauro Gandolfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Judith With The Head Of Holofernes, After Cristofano Allori in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 46,159.53).

Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Holy Women Mourning Over The Body Of The Dead Christ von Mauro Gandolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.107,14) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mauro Gandolfi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Judith With The Head Of Holofernes, After Cristofano Allori im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 46.159,53).
