In November 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Vitória Régia by Mauricio Barbato. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,669.76), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by Mauricio Barbato have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,474.90) in May 2017 for the work Philodendron.
