The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,189.01), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mauricio Barbato have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Philodendron in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,474.90).

Die Arbeit Canal de Beagle e Cordiilheira dos Andes (Darwin) von Mauricio Barbato wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion Latin American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.189,01) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mauricio Barbato auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Philodendron im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.474,90).
