A top price for Maurice Randall - as previously expected
In January 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK, which included the work Volendam harbour by Maurice Randall. The price achieved of NLG 9,400.00 (€ 4,113.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Volendam harbour is the most expensive artwork by Maurice Randall that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK durch, in der auch die Arbeit Volendam harbour von Maurice Randall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 9.400,00 (€ 4.113,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Volendam harbour das teuerste Kunstwerk von Maurice Randall, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
