The »bidding war« ended at USD 350,000.00 (€ 310,091.26), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Brazil Prendergast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Stony Beach in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,526,000.00 (€ 4,170,313.42).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 310.091,26) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Brazil Prendergast erzielen.
