Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Tanya and Sartaj Gill, CSI Miami, November 25th 2002, 10-11pm' by Matthew Pillsbury for USD 1,134.00 (€ 955.83). This price was achieved in the auction Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Matthew Pillsbury have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crystal Palace, Hunterian Museum, London in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,277.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'Tanya and Sartaj Gill, CSI Miami, November 25th 2002, 10-11pm' von Matthew Pillsbury für USD 1.134,00 (€ 955,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthew Pillsbury auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crystal Palace, Hunterian Museum, London im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.277,38).
