Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allison & Matthew Pillsbury, Sunday March 14th, 2004, 11pm-12am by Matthew Pillsbury was sold in the Color & Scale: The Estate of Martha Hummer Bradley auction at Phillips in an online auction in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 882.00 (€ 901.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Pillsbury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Crystal Palace, Hunterian Museum, London in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,277.38).
