This price was achieved in the auction The Irish Sale Part II at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mary Swanzy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cubist Landscape With Red Pagoda And Bridge sold at auction in September 2016 with the realized price of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 130,288.97).
