This artwork by Mary Swanzy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2018. In the A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns auction, the work The White House sold for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,678.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mary Swanzy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cubist Landscape With Red Pagoda And Bridge sold at auction in September 2016 with the realized price of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 130,288.97).
