The work Man Came Out to See the Blossom by Mary Newcomb was sold in the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,112.50 (€ 13,785.20), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mary Newcomb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Guinea Fowl on a Fence in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 38,900.00 (€ 64,692.48).

Die Arbeit Man Came Out to See the Blossom von Mary Newcomb wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.112,50 (€ 13.785,20) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Newcomb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Guinea Fowl on a Fence im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.900,00 (€ 64.692,48).
