The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,866.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martinus Nellius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stilleben mit Zitrone und Weinglas, Vögeln und Schmetterlingen., which sold at auction in September 2012 for CHF 18,000.00 (€ 14,894.52).
