Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled from the series Frank Sinatra by Martin Kippenberger was auctioned at Phillips in 7 - in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,064.00 (€ 3,673.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Kippenberger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 16,405,000.00 (€ 14,921,775.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled from the series Frank Sinatra von Martin Kippenberger kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 7 - zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.064,00 (€ 3.673,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Kippenberger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.405.000,00 (€ 14.921.775,51).
