Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Feast Of Saint Martin by Marten van Cleve I was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 131,530.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Marten van Cleve I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Outdoor Wedding Dance in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,061,000.00 (€ 1,260,697.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Feast Of Saint Martin von Marten van Cleve I kam im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 131.530,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marten van Cleve I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Outdoor Wedding Dance im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.061.000,00 (€ 1.260.697,53).
