This artwork by Marten Rijckaert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2018. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work A wooded landscape with a village by a river, a church beyond sold for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,674.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marten Rijckaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded Landscape With Hercules And Cacus; And A Mountainous River Landscape With The Prodigal Son in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 269,000.00 (€ 238,263.95).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marten Rijckaert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Hercules And Cacus; And A Mountainous River Landscape With The Prodigal Son im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 269.000,00 (€ 238.263,95).
