Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 892.50 (€ 729.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Richard Myers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The cutting out of the Curieux, Martinique, 4th February 1804 in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,344.67).

Die Arbeit Shelikhov's Ships Enter Three Saints Harbour von Mark Richard Myers kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 892,50 (€ 729,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
