Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Riña de gallos by Mario Segundo Pérez was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,623.39). Admittedly, works by Mario Segundo Pérez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nochecita estrellada in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 32,436.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Riña de gallos von Mario Segundo Pérez im Mai 2008 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.623,39) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mario Segundo Pérez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nochecita estrellada im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 32.436,16).
