Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rose from Armida's garden by Marie Spartali Stillman was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 69,137.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie Spartali Stillman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Enchanted Garden in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 874,500.00 (€ 976,894.44).

Die Arbeit The Rose from Armida's garden von Marie Spartali Stillman kam im November 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 42.300,00 (€ 69.137,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marie Spartali Stillman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Enchanted Garden im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 874.500,00 (€ 976.894,44).
