Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Edition Gerd Hatje: Contemporary Photographs, Prints & Multiples, which included the work Babylon Babies, 2006 by Marie-Jo Lafontaine. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 750.00 (€ 840.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie-Jo Lafontaine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monochromes Rouges in June this year with an auction result of EUR 63,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Edition Gerd Hatje: Contemporary Photographs, Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Babylon Babies, 2006 von Marie-Jo Lafontaine zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 750,00 (€ 840,91) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marie-Jo Lafontaine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monochromes Rouges im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 63.000,00.
