Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Pile-driving on a construction site, Amsterdam by Marie Henri MacKenzie. The price achieved of EUR 6,875.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie Henri MacKenzie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An evening on the Leidseplein, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 26,290.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.875,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden.
