Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,861.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie Spartali Stillman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Enchanted Garden in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 874,500.00 (€ 976,894.44).

Die Arbeit Still-Life of Peonies And Irises In A Chinese Vase von Marie Spartali Stillman kam im Juni 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.861,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marie Spartali Stillman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Enchanted Garden im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 874.500,00 (€ 976.894,44).
