This artwork by Maria Martinetti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in October 2021. In the Orientalist Art auction, the work In the courtyard sold for GBP 15,875.00 (€ 18,807.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Maria Martinetti; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Gift sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,391.40).
