In February 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Kalamaki by Maria Manton. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,015.75 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Maria Manton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition, 1951 in March 2010 with an auction result of EUR 6,375.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kalamaki von Maria Manton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.015,75 und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maria Manton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition, 1951 im März 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.375,00.
