In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek reclining Nude by Maria Filopoulou. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,696.86), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maria Filopoulou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nageurs, which sold at auction in November this year for EUR 32,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek reclining Nude von Maria Filopoulou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.696,86) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Maria Filopoulou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nageurs beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für EUR 32.000,00 versteigert wurde.
