Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by María Berrío achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the The Now Evening Auction auction, the work The Lovers 4 sold for USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 939,334.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by María Berrío; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not sold at auction in November last year with the realized price of USD 1,603,000.00 (€ 1,552,843.17).

Dieses Kunstwerk von María Berrío erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
