Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Ti Tree by Margaret Preston was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 26,400.00 (€ 15,903.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Preston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Native Flowers, 1941, in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 504,300.00 (€ 419,202.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Ti Tree von Margaret Preston wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 26.400,00 (€ 15.903,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Preston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Native Flowers, 1941, im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 504.300,00 (€ 419.202,00).
