Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wooden Bridge, Mosman, 1925 by Margaret Preston was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney in November this year. The price achieved of AUD 12,300.00 (€ 7,458.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Preston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Native Flowers, 1941, in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 504,300.00 (€ 419,202.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Wooden Bridge, Mosman, 1925 von Margaret Preston wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 12.300,00 (€ 7.458,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Preston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Native Flowers, 1941, im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 504.300,00 (€ 419.202,00).
