The »bidding war« ended at AUD 2,585.00 (€ 1,566.67), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Heay Lewers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Ideas of Spring, which sold at auction in November 2002 for AUD 10,575.00 (€ 5,963.61).
