Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Gargoyle, Chrysler Building, New York City by Margaret Bourke-White. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 127,000.00 (€ 115,036.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Bourke-White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flood Refugees, Louisville, Kentucky, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 400,000.00 (€ 357,110.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gargoyle, Chrysler Building, New York City von Margaret Bourke-White zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 127.000,00 (€ 115.036,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Bourke-White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flood Refugees, Louisville, Kentucky beobachtet, die im April 2019 für USD 400.000,00 (€ 357.110,97) versteigert wurde.
