Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mardonio Magaña could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern Art including Latin American and Russian Art auction, the work Two Heads changed hands for USD 4,063.00 (€ 3,203.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mardonio Magaña - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Drunkards (Los Borrachos), which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,969.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mardonio Magaña konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art including Latin American and Russian Art wechselte die Arbeit Two Heads für USD 4.063,00 (€ 3.203,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mardonio Magaña mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Drunkards (Los Borrachos) beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.969,41) versteigert wurde.
