Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work 'Sain et Sauf' (Safe and Sound) by Marcus Stone. The price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,171.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcus Stone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Lady is a Widow and Childless 'Tis better to be lowly born, and range with humble livers in content, than to be perk'd up in a glistering grief, and wear a golden sorrow' William Shakespeare, The Life of King Henry VIII, act II, scene, 3. in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 116,650.00 (€ 170,305.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Sain et Sauf' (Safe and Sound) von Marcus Stone zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.171,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcus Stone erzielen.
