Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rambert Iii - Four Elements, 2015 by Marcus Lyon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,539.16). Admittedly, works by Marcus Lyon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exodus VI, West Lamma Channel, South China Sea, 2011 in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 52,275.00 (€ 61,117.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rambert Iii - Four Elements, 2015 von Marcus Lyon im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.539,16) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcus Lyon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exodus VI, West Lamma Channel, South China Sea, 2011 im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.275,00 (€ 61.117,64).
