Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt, which included the work Design For The Base Of A Decorative Vessel by Marco Marchetti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,586.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Marco Marchetti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Design For A Wall Decoration With Apollo And The Muses, A Figure Of Astronomy And The Coat-Of-Arms Of A Grand Duke Of Tuscany As Grand Master Of The Order Of Santo Stefano in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,740.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt durch, in der auch die Arbeit Design For The Base Of A Decorative Vessel von Marco Marchetti zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.586,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marco Marchetti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Design For A Wall Decoration With Apollo And The Muses, A Figure Of Astronomy And The Coat-Of-Arms Of A Grand Duke Of Tuscany As Grand Master Of The Order Of Santo Stefano im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.740,74).
