Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by March Avery achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in July 2020. In the American Art auction, the work Sally Sketching sold for USD 10,700.00 (€ 9,087.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by March Avery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Karla Drawing in August last year with an auction result of USD 40,695.00 (€ 40,432.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von March Avery erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Sally Sketching für USD 10.700,00 (€ 9.087,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von March Avery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Karla Drawing im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.695,00 (€ 40.432,19).
