A top price for March Avery
When the work Karla Drawing by March Avery was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 8,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at USD 40,695.00 (€ 40,432.19). This high result makes Karla Drawing the most expensive artwork by March Avery that we have observed at auctions so far.
