In September 2012 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Maternity by March Avery. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,111.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by March Avery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Karla Drawing in August last year with an auction result of USD 40,695.00 (€ 40,432.19).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maternity von March Avery zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.111,39) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von March Avery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Karla Drawing im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.695,00 (€ 40.432,19).
