Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
When the work The Stronger Sex by Marcel Vertès was auctioned at Christies in Paris in January 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 300.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at EUR 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marcel Vertès have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paravent Représentant Des Personnages De La Comedia Dell'Arte in January 2014 with an auction result of EUR 27,500.00.
Kunstwerk zum Zehnfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit The Stronger Sex von Marcel Vertès im Januar 2014 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 300,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 3.000,00 mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcel Vertès auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paravent Représentant Des Personnages De La Comedia Dell'Arte im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.500,00.
