Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work The Penitent Magdalene by Marcantonio Franceschini for USD 66,000.00 (€ 50,777.04). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Marcantonio Franceschini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lot And His Daughters in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene von Marcantonio Franceschini für USD 66.000,00 (€ 50.777,04) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcantonio Franceschini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lot And His Daughters im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 368.750,00 (€ 414.974,11).
