Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marcantonio Franceschini could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Aurora And Cephalus changed hands for USD 126,000.00 (€ 108,182.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marcantonio Franceschini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lot And His Daughters, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).
