Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cupid Fleeing From The Wounded Venus by Marcantonio Franceschini was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,279.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcantonio Franceschini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lot And His Daughters in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).
