In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work View Of Montreal From St. Helen'S Island by Marc-Aurèle Fortin. The price achieved of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 357,948.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, View Of Montreal From St. Helen'S Island is the most expensive artwork by Marc-Aurèle Fortin that we have observed at auctions so far.
