Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Bagotville by Marc-Aurèle Fortin. The price achieved of CAD 301,500.00 (€ 219,720.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 275,000.00 – 325,000.00. Other works by Marc-Aurèle Fortin have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2012 the work View Of Montreal From St. Helen'S Island was auctioned for CAD 462,500.00 (€ 357,948.69).
