In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work Herders Resting Before Ruins by Marc Antoine Michel Hamon Duplessis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,159.22), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Antoine Michel Hamon Duplessis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive landscape with peasants and travellers by a tent; and An extensive landscape with peasants and travellers, a town beyond, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,546.46).

Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Herders Resting Before Ruins von Marc Antoine Michel Hamon Duplessis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.159,22) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
