Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Samantha by Mao Yan for HKD 1,000,000.00 (€ 117,679.26). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mao Yan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standing Youth in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,440,000.00 (€ 1,063,557.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Samantha von Mao Yan für HKD 1.000.000,00 (€ 117.679,26) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mao Yan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standing Youth im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.440.000,00 (€ 1.063.557,38).
