This artwork by Manuel Mendive achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in February this year. In the Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art auction, the work Muy verde sold for USD 15,300.00 (€ 14,431.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Manuel Mendive have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Energías para el amor y la bondad in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,249.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Mendive erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art wurde die Arbeit Muy verde für USD 15.300,00 (€ 14.431,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel Mendive auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Energías para el amor y la bondad im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.249,56).
