MANUEL MENDIVE (b. 1944) La esperanza signed and dated 'MENDIVE 2006' (lower left) acrylic, cowrie shells and thread on canvas 33 3 ⁄ 8 x 39 1 ⁄ 4 in. (84.8 x 99.7 cm.) Painted in 2006.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La esperanza by Manuel Mendive was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,384.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Manuel Mendive have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Energías para el amor y la bondad in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,249.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La esperanza von Manuel Mendive kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.384,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel Mendive auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Energías para el amor y la bondad im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.249,56).
